Conceived as a place of quiet reflection, this chapel is designed to blur the connection between the physical and ephemeral. Designed so that light enters from all around, yet the only visible source is a thin aperture in the focal wall, users are given the opportunity to focus on the harmony brought about by stillness. The lack of direct views to the world outside, juxtaposed with the abundance of natural light from that place, invites users to disassociate from the everyday for a time. The hope of the architect is that this experience can allow those who use the space to reconnect with themselves and the rest of us in a more meaningful, positive way than when they entered.
